Every business in Mapan has one business type. The business type doesn't change how records work — the POS, Invoices, stock, and business cash behave the same for everyone — but it sets the terms, the menus shown, and the analysis focus so the app fits your business. Extra features such as Add-ons (toppings) and Queue Numbers can be switched on separately, whatever your business type.
Business Types
You choose the business type in the first step when creating a business, and the owner can change it anytime with the Jenis Usaha (Business Type) field in Pengaturan Bisnis (Business Settings).
Food & Beverage (Makanan & Minuman)
For cafés, food stalls, eateries, caterers, and other food businesses that turn raw ingredients into menu items.
Terms
The catalog is called Menu, buyers are Pelanggan (Customers), and the purchasing side is Pemasok (Suppliers).
Menus shown
Gudang (Warehouse) for raw ingredients (milk, coffee, flour) with Tambah Stok (Restock) and Riwayat Stok (Stock History). "Catat Pembelian" (Record Purchase) is at the ingredient level, not the menu — menu items are made in-house, not bought ready-made.
Analysis focus
Best-selling and declining menu items, peak days & hours, and ingredient availability. Stock analysis is always shown in the Full Report.
Retail / Shop (Retail / Toko)
For grocery stores, boutiques, online shops, and businesses that buy finished goods and resell them.
Terms
The catalog is called Katalog with Produk (Products), buyers are Pelanggan (Customers), and the purchasing side is Pemasok (Suppliers).
Menus shown
Gudang (Warehouse) is available, and Catat Pembelian (Record Purchase) works directly on catalog products (buy ready-made, resell). You can use a separate warehouse stock for bulk inventory.
Analysis focus
Best sellers and slow movers, stock turnover, margins, and peak days & hours. Stock analysis is always shown.
Services (Jasa)
For workshops, salons, laundries, consultants, freelancers, and businesses that sell services.
Terms
The catalog is called Daftar Layanan (Service List), payers are Klien (Clients), and the purchasing side is Vendor.
Menus shown
No Warehouse menu. The focus is on Invoices, down payments/installments, and receivables.
Analysis focus
Your top services, dependence on specific clients, and receivables and invoice collection. Stock analysis isn't shown.
Content Creator (Konten Kreator)
For creators, influencers, and small agencies that bill brands per piece of content.
Terms
The catalog is called Rate Card with Jenis Konten (Content Types), payers are Klien (Clients), and partners are Vendor.
Menus shown
No Warehouse menu. Invoices are used to bill brands/clients.
Analysis focus
Your most profitable content types, client/brand concentration, and collections.
Rental (Rental / Sewa)
For PlayStation rentals, billiard halls, studios, courts, and businesses that rent out units by the hour — often while selling snacks and drinks.
Terms
What you rent out is called a Unit (e.g. PS5 Room A, Billiard Table 2), the catalog is Katalog with Item, and buyers are Pelanggan (Customers).
Menus shown
No Warehouse menu. Catat Pembelian (Record Purchase) works on catalog items (snacks bought ready-made). Turn on the Meja / Unit (Tables / Units) feature to track usage per unit.
Analysis focus
Peak rental hours and days, top rental services, and companion snack sales. Stock analysis only appears if some items have stock tracking.
Personal Business & Other (Usaha Pribadi & Lainnya)
For side businesses, consignment sales, or businesses that don't fit the other types.
Terms
The catalog is called Katalog with Item, and buyers are Pelanggan (Customers).
Menus shown
No Warehouse menu. With Lainnya (Other), Record Purchase works on catalog items.
Analysis focus
Best-selling items, peak days & hours, and cash flow. Stock analysis only appears if some items have stock tracking.
Optional Features per Business
Besides the business type, some features can be switched on or off in Pengaturan Bisnis (Business Settings). They aren't tied to a business type — for example, a retail shop can use Queue Numbers too.
Add-ons: Sizes & Toppings (Tambahan)
Extra choices per order such as size, topping, or sugar level, with optional stock. Best for Food & Beverage; also works for services with extra charges per service. See the Add-ons guide.
Queue Numbers (Nomor Antrian)
Automatic daily sequence numbers (e.g. A-001) with a prefix you set, printed large on the receipt (guide). Great for food stalls, food courts, laundries, or any service with a queue.
Tables / Units (Meja / Unit)
Orders are recorded per table (dine-in) or per rental unit, kept open while the customer adds more, then paid all at once. The cashier can also choose Bawa pulang (Takeaway) or Antar (Delivery). Great for Food & Beverage and Rental.
Discounts & Service Charges
Master discounts (fixed/percentage, with periods) and a service charge you can switch on anytime — applied in the POS and Invoices.
Recommended Initial Settings
Café / Drink Stall
Food & Beverage · turn on Add-ons (Size, Topping) and Queue Numbers · add raw ingredients in Gudang (Warehouse).
Grocery Store / Boutique
Retail / Shop · track product stock · use Catat Pembelian (Record Purchase) whenever goods arrive.
Salon / Workshop / Laundry
Services · use Invoices for work that's paid later · turn on Queue Numbers if customers wait their turn.
Café / Restaurant with Tables
Food & Beverage · turn on Tables / Units (use "Tambah Sekaligus" (Add in Bulk) for Tables 1–10 per area) and Queue Numbers for takeaway orders.
PlayStation / Billiard Rental
Rental · create Tarif Sewa (Rental Rates, e.g. Day/Night) and assign them to each PS or billiard table in Meja / Unit · run timers and take rental payments in the Sewa (Rental) menu · sell snacks through the Kasir (POS) · create bundles such as 2 Hours + 2 Iced Teas (bundle contents: rental hours + Iced Tea), then start the session as a Paket bundling (Bundle).
